Full Of Secrets
by Moishe Kaufman
Full of secrets is the girl
that my heart loves so,
like the old green forest
that surrounds my home.
When the sun burns west at twilight
leaves rustle a holy prayer.
She starts to trremble and cry
my beloved quiet girl.
Like the moon her face turns blue
with quivering dark eyebrows,
she looks far, far into the night
I know she longs for someone, but for whom?
Full of secrets is life, and the old green trees,
the filthy brook that’s near my home
and women are false
yet I love them.
